Objective – Leadership in Innovation
FARO has successfully combined three tried-and-tested measuring systems in the Track ScanArm. The mobile measuring system is particularly impressive in the measurement of entire vehicles, not least as a result of its efficiency.
The BMW Group relies on the latest, state-of-the-art technologies, in particular in development and production. In this context, the Track ScanArm from FARO, which is used at the plants in Dingolfing and Regensburg (both in Germany), represents an equally clever and mobile measuring system in Geometric Integration measuring technology.
How 3D scanning is revolutionizing Artifact Preservation
Non-Contact 3D Digitizers work without touching the object and without damaging it in any way. Once obtained, the object data can be stored digitally or output in analog form so it can be processed and utilized for a wide variety of purposes.
This is a revolutionary process because we can now digitally record artifacts and object previously unmeasurable because of their fragility. Optical measurement systems, or non-contact scanners, are ideally suited for multi-dimensional imaging and digitization of art objects and cultural heritage materials. The object data collected may be used to conserve art and cultural treasures, for study and research purposes, and as a powerful marketing tool.

Wayne Rooney on Mount Rushmore thanks to FARO
England Legends Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Theo Walcott and James Milner took the place of the traditional four presidents of the United States of America last month. Nike planted a massive billboard on Cromwell Road in West London, taking over the largest advertising site in the UK.
The rock sculpture billboard idea began five months ago when each footballer had their face electronically scanned to produce a lifelike reproduction of the players.
The scanning of the football stars has been carried out using a FARO Laser ScanArm.
