Webinar: SCENE 4.8 – New Features and Improvements, 22nd February
SCENE is specifically designed for all FARO laser scanners. SCENE processes and manages scanned data both efficiently and easily by using the automatic object recognition, scan registration and positioning. In this webinar, you will learn about the new features of SCENE 4.8 like the support of the new FARO Focus3D scanner and the target-less registration of scans. Also the improved integration of FARO’s free software to present laser scan projects on the internet – SCENE WebShare – and other enhancements will be covered by this webinar.

First Focus3D in the Greek Market acquired by Topometria
“The reason why Topometria Ltd ordered the FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D is that it was by far the most impressive item of Intergeo 2010, assembling in a tiny instrument all the high-end technology we needed: frequency, range, color, 360 field of view at a very fair price. The Focus3D will become the link between laser scanning technology and daily conventional survey” explains George Papastamos, CEO at Topometria.
Topometria Ltd is a Greek infrastructure engineering and consulting company providing ad hoc Surveying Services. Over the last years, the company invested time and capital in High End Surveying Equipment and software as well as in training. Except conventional surveys Topometria Ltd expertise’s in deformation monitoring, railway and road works surveying, laser scanning, tunneling survey, geodetic network establishment, quantity survey.
BMW Group banks on FARO Focus3D
BMW Group acquired FARO Focus3D and will use it for the adjustment of the real geometry of forming tools with engineering data. The purpose is to avoid collisions in the production process.
ThyssenKrupp System Engineering buys FARO Focus3D
ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer GmbH based in Wadern-Lockweiler (Germany) bought as one of the first companies the new FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D. The scanner will be used in the digital factory sector and to digitalise production lines in the automotive sector.
Rainer Haupenthal, teamleader at BIW Service explains, ”The FARO Focus3D is the first choice for us and convinced us due to its cost/performance ratio: excellent quality for a reasonable price. No other supplier on the market offers this performance at such a price.“
New FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D is great success
With the opening of the Intergeo 2010 we launched yesterday the new FARO Laser Scanner Focus3D which is five times smaller, four times lighter than its predecessor and available at a very affordable price. [more...]

Visit us at Intergeo 2010!
We invite you to visit us at Intergeo 2010 which will take place from 5th – 7th October 2010 in Cologne, Germany.
Come to our booth 1B.112 in hall 11.1 and discover what’s new in the world of laser scanning. FARO will also demonstrate the new version 4.7 of SCENE which incorporates the new ‘one-click’ Web-Share functionality. The SCENE Web-Share feature allows for easy and secure sharing of scan data via the Internet.
You will also meet our software partners on the stand.
We are happy to welcome you on our booth and we offer you free entry tickets to visit us.
Seen on the web l Scanning the bigger picture
One of the world’s largest commercially available 3D laser scanners, the Faro Photon 120 is already used by surveyors, engineers, planners, the FBI and the Metropolitan Police. It has also been used to analyse problems in nuclear reactors.
The Bartlett has been given a scanner on loan from Faro to see if it can find new uses for the technology, which is capable of producing highly accurate 3D representations of almost any built project in a video-game-style environment which can then be exported into cad, Rhino and a number of other relevant programmes.
Webinar: SCENE Web-Share, 14th September
We invite you to join our webinar: “SCENE Web-Share – Presentation of FARO laser scan projects via the Internet” on Tuesday, 14th September at 02:00PM (GMT).
This webinar shows how laser scanning projects are processed with SCENE to make them available on the internet platform Web-Share. Further, you get to know how to set up the web server, which makes the scan data available on the internet. Finally, we present possibilities to enhance scan data with additional information such as project descriptions and geographic coordinates.
